Abstract

This study aims to analyze the reading culture of students in the digital era, with a case study of students at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Hasanuddin University. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results show that students' reading culture is more influenced by fast and instant digital content, with the primary motivation for reading being academic. Lack of digital literacy and minimal institutional support also weaken deep reading interest. This study recommends strategies such as integrating digital media into learning, establishing digital reading communities, and increasing digital literacy training to build an adaptive and sustainable reading culture in the digital era.
